Catherine Christiano is a fine artist  working primarily with painting and drawing media.  She often works with subjects that are close to her own life and environment, finding the ordinary in life and creating images that are symbolic and meaningful.

Catherine completed a BFA from the  Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in 2001 after working for some time in business and engineering.  She recently illustrated the memoir Povery Island, published by the Old Lyme Historical Society.  Her work has also been published in American Artist Drawing, on the cover of JAMA, the Journal of the American Medical Association,  and on the cover of Trusteeship, a journal of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges. 

Catherine actively exhibits her work primarily in museums and galleries in the Northeast.  Her work has been shown in New York City at Project Room 88 and the AAF Contemporary Art Fair and in Connecticut at Fairfield University, the New Britain Museum of American Art, the Mattatuck Museum, the Slater Memorial Museum, Pfizer Global Research & Development, the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, Sylvan Gallery and The Cooley Gallery.
